The BR-400's fully serial mode is exactly what makes this format practical: with car and landing communicating over a serial connection, the box needs fewer terminals and less travelling cable than a conventional controller — which is the real constraint of an installation without a machine room. It keeps the board’s performance — up to 32 floors in down-collective mode, up to 3.0 m/s, absolute encoder management and multiplex grouping of up to eight installations — over a VVVF or hydraulic controller. Exact location, box size and harness routing are decided with the shaft dimensions on the table.
