PUSH-BUTTONSALARM PUSH-BUTTON
Alarm push-button with bell pictogram, confirmation light and plate mounting.
An alarm push button with bell pictogram, confirmation light and plate mounting. It is not one more button on the panel: it is what a trapped passenger uses to call for help, which is why both its identification and its behaviour are standardised.
EN 81-70 requires the alarm button to be identified with the bell symbol and to stand out from the rest of the panel, so it can be found without prior knowledge of the equipment. EN 81-28 governs the two-way communication system it opens: the confirmation light is what tells the passenger the emergency call has been registered and answered — a functional requirement, not a styling detail. It is integrated into made-to-measure panels alongside the floor buttons and wired to the installation’s emergency telephone unit.
